MA Course

MA in Kodály Music Pedagogy

It is our great pleasure to announce that as a result of several years of dedicated work to further develop our academic programmes at the Kodály Institute we offer a NEW two-year MA study course in Kodály Music Pedagogy that replaces the one-year programme established in 2007. The new graduate programme commences in September 2017.

The extended programme was designed in order to provide new opportunities for our students by offering regular teaching practice in the Institute’s partner schools and a wide range of specialisations including Early Childhood Music Education, the Kokas Pedagogy, Colourstrings Methods and Choral Music Education. Students enrolled in this programme will greatly benefit from the opportunities created for a more in-depth development of musicianship, more comprehensive training in teaching methods based on the Kodály Concept including methodology of teaching solfege and music theory at secondary and tertiary level, and naturally much more time available for the completion of research projects.

The two-year degree course contains 120 graduate credits and is taught in ENGLISH.
Application deadline is 15 February for studies commencing in September.
All necessary information regarding the course, the application procedure, etc. are available under the General InformationCourse Content, and Exams & Evaluation links.
Details about accommodation and expenses can be found under the links on the right.
