Course in Voice Pedagogy

The faculty have dedicated their lives to the simultaneous and inseparable goals of artistic and educational excellence. The program includes repertoire coaching, ensemble, chamber music and course work as related to the major subject. The art of effective voice pedagogy requires fine musicianship, acute aural skills, an extensive knowledge of vocal literature, a broad understanding of Kodály's pedagogy, and good keyboard skills. The curriculum guides each student through this wide range of disciplines and also offers a platform for performance.

COMPULSORY SUBJECTS

Introductory Lectures about Kodály's Pedagogical Philosophy (1st semester) 1 continuous participation + written examination

Lectures about Kodály's Life Work (2nd semester) 1 continuous participation + written examination

Voice Training 1 practical work + examination

Solfege (general or advanced level) 2,5 practical work + written and oral examination

Music Theory (general or advanced level) 2,5 practical work + written and oral examination

Choral Singing 2 continuous participation

Voice Methodology and Vocal Music Literature 1,5 practical work + examination

Chamber Music 1 practical work

Piano 1/2 practical work
