In order to render Kodály's many-sided life work available to as many people as possible, the Foundation for the Kodály Institute was created in 1995.

More particularly the goals of the Foundation are:

  • to help extend the programmes and organisational structure, improve the working conditions of the Kodály Institute;

  • to help secure the financial background of national and international programmes of post-graduate training;

  • to offer scholarships for both the academic years' courses and shorter seminars and conferences;

  • to extend the financial basis of the publications of scientific work done by or inspired by the Institute;

  • to support the maintenance and special programmes and activities of the Zoltán Kodály Memorial Museum;

  • to support the activities of the Institute as an information centre;

  • to organize the Éva Vendrei Memorial Scholarship.

In the past few years, the Foundation has become especially active as supporter and organizer of special short courses, and in facilitating the publication of new books, CDs and audio-visual materials, such as the Kodály Concept of Music Education on DVD-ROM. The Foundation is open, any person from within or outside Hungary
may send or give donations in cash or otherwise.
