Music Schools' Choir Festival

by the Kodály Institute in co-operation with the Kodály Music School
and the Town Hall of Kecskemét on the 30th anniversary of the Opening
of the Institute
The
festival started with concerts given by
the choirs of the Kecskemét Kodály School:

On the
second day, Gabriella Thész, conductor of the Hungarian Radio's
Children Choir gave a lecture on international children's choir literature of
the second half of the 20th century. During the day, the guest choirs
were giving concerts. In the evening the children were studying folk dance from the Hegedűs Folk Ensemble:

On the last day of the Festival Zsuzsánna Mindszenty, associate professzor,
co-president of the Association of Hungarian Choirs and Orchestras, gave a lecture on Hungarian children's choir literature of the second half of the 20th century. The main event of the day was the quick studying competition. The choirs had to learn a new piece, entitled "Life", written for this occasion by the contemporary composer Miklós Mohay. The Festival was closed by the choirs singing together:
