It is our pleasure to announce the twenty-fifth International Kodály Seminar to be held in Kecskemét, birthplace of Zoltán Kodály.
The first International Kodály Seminar was organised in 1970. The Kodály
Institute started its activity in 1975 by organizing the 3rd Kodály Seminar. Since 1975 the Kodály Institute has offered in-depth summer courses
for music pedagogues and choral conductors to enhance their knowledge
of the compositions, scientific activity and educational philosophy
of Zoltán Kodály.
In the framework of these courses a special emphasis
has been given to the details of sequential pedagogical practice in the
classroom environment.

Notification
of acceptance will be sent to all participants before 1 May, 2009.
Scholarships are available for the Seminar through the Hungarian Scholarship Board.
Check their website at www.scholarship.hu to see which countries are eligible to apply. Application deadline is 15 April, 2009.
Four scholarships are also available through the Foundation for the Kodály Institute.

ALL LESSONS, LECTURES AND COURSES WILL BE HELD IN ENGLISH!
The
study program of the Seminar starts on 20 July (Monday morning), therefore
the day of arrival is on 19 July (Sunday).
The program finishes with a closing concert on 7 August (Friday evening),
therefore the day of departure is on 8 August (Saturday).
All participants of all the courses will sing in either the WOMEN'S CHOIR and the MIXED CHOIR.
Both ensembles will perform at the closing concert of the Kodály Festival, on 7 August.
Materials
All materials used for the courses can be borrowed from the Institute's Library.

The bank administrative cost must be covered by the sender. This includes 2500 HUF plus the transfer fee.

In case of cancellation after 10 July, 2009 we charge 25%, after
10 July, we charge 50% of the course fee.

If there are more requests for one type of room than available space, the order of receipt of application will be the deciding factor.
